Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries Using frozen is key for a thick, frosty texture
  • 1 large ripe banana The spottier, the better—it’s naturally sweeter
  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt Adds creaminess and a protein punch
  • ½ cup milk Dairy, almond, oat—your choice!
  • ¼ cup orange juice A splash for tang and vitamin C
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup Optional, depending on your sweet tooth
  • Handful of ice cubes If you’re using fresh fruit instead of frozen

Instructions

  • Add the liquid ingredients (milk and orange juice) to the blender first. This helps the blades move freely and prevents everything from getting stuck.
  • Next, add the Greek yogurt, followed by the frozen strawberries and the banana (break it into chunks).
  • If you’re using that optional honey, add it now.
  • Secure the lid on tightly. IMO, this is the most critical step unless you want abstract art on your kitchen walls.
  • Blend on high for 45-60 seconds, or until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. If it’s too thick, add a little more milk.
  • Too thin? Toss in a few more frozen berries.
  • Pour immediately into a glass and enjoy. Congratulations, you’re a smoothie pro.
