Prep the fruit: If the banana is fresh, slice it. For an extra thick smoothie, use a frozen banana and frozen strawberries.
Add liquids first: Pour 1/2 cup milk into the blender.
This helps the blades catch the ingredients smoothly.
Layer the rest: Add frozen strawberries, banana, vanilla ice cream, vanilla extract, and a small pinch of salt.
Blend until smooth: Start on low, then increase to high for 30–45 seconds. If it’s too thick, add a splash of milk. If it’s too thin, add a few ice cubes or more frozen fruit.
Taste and sweeten: Blend in honey or maple syrup if you want it sweeter.
Ripe bananas often add enough sweetness on their own.
